Job Description Summary: Position for a new graduate in image science, motion picture imaging, imaging technology or a related field. Expected start date of June, 2012. Primary areas of contribution are technical, including focused projects on image quality assessments (MTF, SNR, systematic noise, etc.), image processing and algorithm development for persistent (motion) imaging systems as well as multispectral imaging (MSI) and dual band electro-optical and thermal sensor systems. This position is intended for a new graduate (BS or MS) and will be a contributor to the image science team with no direct reports or management responsibilities.
- Image quality measurement and analysis
- Spectral and spatial algorithm implementation using ENVI and IDL/Matlab
- Support for flight tests and operational image assessments
Basic Qualifications: Entry level position requiring no prior commercial or industrial experience, but completion of a minimum 4-year degree in Imaging Science, Motion Picture Science, Imaging Technology, or related field. MS degree in Imaging Science also appropriate. Necessary skills include detailed understanding of imaging systems and analysis (spectral, radiometric, spatial, noise analysis, compression, etc.); psychophysics experience a plus; college-level understanding of math (calculus), physics, computer science (IDL/Matlab/C programming) and digital image processing.
