POSITION: Healthcare Principal Consultant
LOCATION: Open
Edgewater s expanding Healthcare Practice includes health providers (e.g. hospitals and other acute care settings, group practices, ambulatory clinics, cancer treatment and research centers), and health producers (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device producers). We are seeking candidates with both strong healthcare and consulting experience to help us grow the practice and Edgewater s position as a leader in this area.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Healthcare Principal Consultant will play an integral role in helping shape and expand Edgewater s Healthcare practice service offerings, industries and markets. The Principal Consultant serves as a subject matter expert supporting business development and strategic delivery activities in the healthcare arena. He/She is responsible for expanding revenue and establishing referenceable accounts as well as providing direct contributions on strategic programs and project management oversight and support on solution engagements. Other key roles include relationship building, market program development, and service offering development.
Business Development: Work with the business development teams in identifying opportunities with new and existing clients and in the development of proposals within the healthcare practice areas. Provide input and leadership in solution and program formulation, design and launch. Actively participate in the sales process, collaborating with business development staff and Edgewater management and serving as an industry subject matter resource and senior interface to client management and staff.
Client Management: Ensure Edgewater is engaged as a trusted partner and advisor in critical areas of the client s business. Facilitate the introduction of Edgewater s capabilities to clients in conjunction with the Edgewater sales team.
Delivery: Assist Edgewater s project management office in estimating professional services associated with healthcare related opportunities. Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to project delivery teams. Directly participate in client projects as a subject matter expert as well as provide a project leadership role on strategic engagements, including project management activities and the resolution of associated project and client management issues.
Practice Development: Assist the practice director in the development and rollout of solutions and methodologies, marketing collateral and "point-of-view" documents. Participate in relevant industry events/conferences. Contribute to Edgewater thought-leadership papers in Healthcare trends.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 8-10 years in the Healthcare industry. Prior consulting experience strongly preferred. Experience in the definition, planning, delivery and management of technology-based solutions.
Sales support and delivery experience will be viewed favorably; the successful candidate will have been responsible for identifying opportunities, selling and delivery associated services and working with clients to build value.
Excellent business judgment and analytic skills required. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to relate well to and influence management teams of portfolio companies.
TRAVEL: must be willing to travel throughout the U.S.
