Position Description:

Southborough, MA - The Indirect Strategic Purchasing Manager will be responsible for developing and managing the Purchasing strategy for all indirect expenditure across Gyrus. The incumbent will develop policies and procedures which ensure that Gyrus is fully compliant with the requirements of the Global and Regional Control Framework related to indirect expenditure and supplier management. He/She will also be responsible for identifying and developing an effective supply base for all major Gyrus indirect spend categories, helping to ensure that equipment and services are delivered on-time, competitively and with sustainable quality. This is a leadership role and the Strategic Purchasing Manager will provide innovation and vision in purchasing and supplier management strategic direction. EOE M/F/D/V

Requirements and Responsibilities:

* Develop a short, medium and long term strategy for supplier management and development to define indirect spend categories in order to help ensure high quality, cost effective supply to support the business requirements across all Gyrus facilities.

* Works with internal customers to help define and categorize all areas of indirect expenditure, and make recommendations for global versus local supply.

* Identify strategic partners capable of meeting the business needs now and in the future. Negotiate Framework Agreements/Service Level Agreements which will deliver bottom line benefits to Gyrus.

* Define and document the governance processes and procedures, and train internal customers to ensure compliance.

* Ensure full utilization of the business system to ensure that all expenditure follows the correct authorization route, as defined by the control frameworks and finance policies and procedures.

* Manage the Indirect Purchasing Team across Gyrus facilities to ensure standardization and adherence to policies and procedures.

* Use business systems to categorize all spend and suppliers, and develop management reports to help enhance financial reporting.

* Ensure that purchasing processes and concepts are continually developed to improve internal efficiencies and deliver bottom line benefits.

* Work closely with internal teams, across facilities to drive commonality in processes and leverage purchasing synergies.

* Ensure transparency in business decision making related to all areas of indirect expenditures.

* Supervisory responsibilities include Indirect Purchasing Team and MRO Buyers across Gyrus.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)

* A Bachelors Degree is required.

* A minimum of 10 years ofexperience in Indirect Purchasing at management level is required.

* Must possess demonstrated experience of indirect purchasing strategy development.

* Experience in managing indirect purchasing in amulti-site business model is necessary.

* CPM (NAPM) certification is preferred.

* The ability to work at both strategic and operational levels with a high level of commercial acumen is essential.

* Must be a persuasive presenter and facilitator with the ability to engage and gain support throughout the Senior Management Team and with Junior Team Members.

* Must possess excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.

* The ability to develop strong and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at Senior Level is required.

* Must be experienced in developing company wide processes and procedures.

* Must be highly commercial, delivery focused with exceptional business acumen and proven ability to lead projects.

* Strong strategic planning and project management/organizational skills are essential.

* Must be high energy, self motivated, hands-on and participatory with strong results orientation and ability to quickly establish priorities.

* Motivational and team building skills with ability to lead organizational change and demonstrated decision making capabilities are vital.

* Strong relationship development skills, with the ability to manage and motivate both up and down the organization are necessary.
