Duties:
Participates in the delivery of health services to persons with intelectual disabilities to ensure the prevention of illness and the promotion of health maintenance. Identifies acute problems and implements appropriate interventions. Dispenses medications and treatment according to policies. Provides timely and accurate documentation. May be required to travel from one job site to another May be required to have a Mass. driver's licensed. Performs other related work as required. Will be required to enter data in specific data bases.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL LEVELS IN SERIES: Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing . *
*Recent graduates from an approved school of nursing must have applied for the first available registered nurse examination. Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understand and write in the English Language.

THIS IS AN OPEN CONTINUOUS POSTING. Position locations range from Waltham campus to South Shore and Western part of the State. Shedules vary from full-time to part-time to meet the needs of the department. Applicants must be flexible with work shedule. Positions in Metro Residential Services prove services in a community home setting.
Possession of a current an valid drivers license. Ability to physically assist and lift individuals. All interested applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check, pre-employmenht medical exam.
This is a 24hour/7 days a week staff position. The Department of Developmental Services requires employees in this position to be able to perform "MANDATORY OVERTIME" when circumstances dictate the need.
This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" POSITION IN THE DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES EMERGENCY PLAN. THIS MEANS THAT WHENEVER THE GOVERNOR DECLARES THAT THE COMMONWEALTH IS IN A STATE OF EMERGENCY, YOU WILL BE REUIRED TO REPORT TO WORK.
