Job Summary
This position typically is not an Actuary, not pursuing actuarial designation, but an incumbent may have one or two exams
Develop methodologies, assumptions, qualifications, and computer programs, using a variety of programming languages and
software, to capture data for complex actuarial analyses. Require broad-based knowledge of actuarial business functions,
statistical methods of analysis, company actuarial systems and databases, and their integration, and technical facility with
leading computer tools and technology.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Hedging Production. In this role, the candidate will take ownership of the hedging production process. The candidate will be
responsible for producing liability Greeks and attribution analysis. The candidate will also be required to analyze results and
perform reasonableness checks and ensure data quality and model integrity. The candidate will also support the testing and
implementation of model/process improvements. Analytical Enhancements & Process Improvements. As the candidate gains
experience with liability hedging, it is expected that the candidate will actively be involved in making the process and quality
of analytics better. This includes being an active participant in the idea generation and prioritization of various analytical and
process enhancements to the hedging program such as improving ways to look at results and summarize/communicate
results. The candidate should also view the production process with a critical eye and identify ways to improve it by
expandingautomations, condensing runs, and reducing inefficiencies. The candidate will be expected to fully understand
issues, make recommendations, and assist in implementing the enhancements. Modeling. The candidate will become an
expert on the hedgingmodel and is expected to identify areas where the model can be improved for increased efficiency and

accuracy. Hedging Strategies. Work with both liability and asset hedging teams to understand and evaluate current hedge
strategies to ensure optimal hedge strategy as market conditions change New Product Development. Work closely with
pricing & product development actuaries to assess risk in variable annuity products. Skill Development Actuarial Modeling.
The candidate will become proficient in actuarial software. While previous modeling experience is a plus, it is not required
Analytical & Critical Thinking. The candidate will learn to analyze results with a critical eye, ensuring results are accurate and
reasonable. The candidate will also learn to solve complex problems, both from a real world perspective and a modeling
perspective. Communication. The candidate will sharpen communication skills while working in cross functional teams and in
presenting complex technical results to both actuaries and non actuaries Ownership. The candidate will have ownership and
accountability for the models and results.
