Description The Senior Accounts Payable Associate reports to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and is responsible for all areas of North America and Asia Pacific Accounts Payable from voucher preparation and entry, check disbursement, journal entries, primarily for external consultants and rent. He/she will also be responsible for global consultant performance payments (commission payments). Eighty-five percent (85 %) of the job is spent on US payables vs fifteen percent (15%) on Canada and Hong Kong. Approximately seventy-five percent (75%) of this person s time is spent on full cycle payables for external consultants. Essential functions * Responsible for voucher input, check printing, check distribution, and filing mainly for external consultants. Most external consultants are paid when we are paid by customers (consultant s time is a passthrough to the customer). Associate is responsible for tracking when we are paid by customers and paying the vendors accordingly (this is referred to as paid when paid ) * Resolves external consultant billing and billing rate issues * Ensures vouchers are properly approved * On a monthly basis, enters rent and facilities related vouchers and processes payments * Works with external consultants and Executive Assistants companywide to resolve discrepancies or obtain missing information on invoices and expense claims * Works with Contracts department to set up new consultants and resolve any contract issues * Supports Payable Supervisor on misc. projects and is a backup for two other Accounts Payable Clerks who process employee expense reimbursements and other vouchers * Prepares journal entries for reclasses, intercompany transactions or other adjustments * Supports general accounting, billing personnel, external auditors and external consultants by providing back-up documentation * Responsible for paying quarterly commission payments to external consultants * Provide support to Accounts Payable Supervisor or Financial Administration on special projects as needed * Misc. projects as needed Qualifications * Bachelor s degree in an accounting-related field is a plus * 3-5 years of experience in accounting field * Experience with Oracle accounting software * Proficient in using Microsoft Office, Outlook and Microsoft Excel * Foreign currency/international experience a plus * Excellent communication and organizational skills * Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with difficult people/situations * Strong attention to detail * Able to prioritize and meet deadlines * Able to multi-task in an evolving workplace * Able to communicate well with all levels of staff, management, and external vendors Charles River Associates is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
