Manages and negotiates procurements of moderate to high value, risk and complexity. Coordinates risk assessments and executes risk management plans for moderate to high risk procurements. Activities include developing and managing a capable supply base, requesting and analyzing quotations, negotiating and administering purchasing orders and contracts with outside suppliers. Incumbent will interface extensively with outside suppliers and internal organizations (e.g., Engineering, Project Management, Contracting, Finance, Legal). May be involved in the training and development of procurement support staff and less experienced buyers. Developing Project Management Skills. Significant involvement in SRB. Lead business unit contributor. Performs sourcing/market research.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience plus 8 years related experience, minimum 3 years in DOD environment preferred

Applicant must be a US Citizen.

Proficiency in standard desktop software, such as MS word, Excel, Power Point. Must be intimately familiar with FAR, DFAR, cost/price analysis, government contract vehicles, & contracting guidelines. Familiarity with international business & knowledge of automated procurement and finance systems desired. General knowledge in ERP systems.
