Lincoln Financial's Group Protection Sales Team is looking for a Marketing Representative to join the Team in our Walnut Creek, CA office.
General Purpose of Job
Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with employee benefits specialist and group insurance brokerage market in assigned territory to ensure company participation in all appropriate employer group client proposal opportunities. Achieve or exceed annual new sales quoting and sold case objectives. Assist in the conservation of inforce business to assist in achieving desired renewal conservation levels desired by Company. Maintain close relationships with regional office staff, underwriting team and service unit to ensure support of Company Service Model and sold case rules and requirements. Communicates with internal and external customers in support of selling Lincoln Group Insurance Products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Responsible for achieving or exceeding established annual quoting and sold case objectives
* Responsible for establishment of new employee benefit specialist and group insurance broker relationships and for nurturing these relationships to optimize case quoting and potential sold case opportunities
* Maintains positive relationships with all home office service team members
* Consistently conducts business on behalf of Lincoln Financial Group in a manner that supports a positive company image, is in compliance with all required rules and regulations and is ethical in all considerations
* Maintains all necessary State insurance licenses for valid insurance business solicitation activities
* Ensures effective processing of all sold cases from time of sale to issuance
* Evaluates all sold case information using established underwriting guidelines to determine Policyholder eligibility
* Ensures that applications and all forms are in compliance with state and federal regulations, underwriting guidelines and company policies and procedures
* Participates in and/or oversees effective implementation meetings as necessary
* Adheres to budget guidelines as directed by Regional Director
* Adheres to market conduct requirements
* Maintains client and broker confidentiality
* Assists regional office and Group Protection in achieving desired Model Office best practices objectives
* Works with Sales Specialists to ensure the proper collection and maintenance of accurate producer and distributor information. Verifies that producers have current resident or non-resident license(s) and are appointed based on appropriate state regulations
* Screens amendment requests for specific plan design, effective date, options and commissions. Ensures completion of NBOC form for sales credit as applicable
* Work with Sales Specialists to insure that all missing information is gathered from clients and brokers to insure quotes, sold cases and amendments are complete prior to submission to the Omaha office
* Assists Brokers with detailed questions on products by understanding and becoming knowledgeable in product information and guidelines of eligible groups
* Negotiates with brokers on quotes and renewals to assist Underwriting Team
* Communicate with and educate Brokers and clients on LFG service model, policies and procedures
* Refers all service problems/questions from Brokers and clients regarding claims, and in-force cases to the Omaha office for resolution
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
* College diploma or equivalent sales experience
* 1 to 3 years of prior group insurance sales experience required
* Demonstrated sales ability evidenced by previous attainment of sales quotas
* Successful account management experience demonstrated by persistency and proven sales relationships
* Strong ethical standards
* Ability to learn Lincoln Financial Group Protection technology
* Strong verbal and written communication skills required
* Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
* Requires Life and Health insurance license
* Strong attention to detail, highly organized and able to prioritize work
* Ability to work independently
* Proven team player
* Ability to make decisions within scope of position
* Presentation skills a must
* Industry courses and designations preferred
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to use standard office equipment, such as PC, Blackberry, printer, calculator, copy, scan and fax machines. Ability to travel approximately 80% of the time or as territory requires.
