Special Heavy Motor Equipment Operator
at State of Massachusetts
Under general supervision, operates and has responsibility for special motor equipment requiring an operating engineer’s license and/or requiring unusual skill; may supervise a small group of equipment operators or helpers, or may be responsible for the maintenance and care of a small number of pieces of equipment; and does related work as required.
- Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills
Operates catchbasin cleaning machines and supervises the work of the men involved in such cleaning operation; operates heavy tractor-trailers, wrecker trucks, large mobile cranes, bulldozers, land-fill compactors, large earth movers and power shovels; changes tires and batteries, services and makes adjustments and minor repairs to special motor equipment. May supervise the work of a small group of equipment operators. May supervise the maintenance and care of a small number of pieces of motor equipment.
- Minimum qualifications & Requirements
2 years of experience required in related work. Must be a resident of the city of Boston.
